About Quamille Renee' Moses-Simpson

Hello, my name is Quamille Renee' Moses-Simpson and I am the owner of an educational consulting company that seeks to provide resources to K-18 organizations.

My ultimate goal is to become part of the professoriate at a university, ultimately pursuing an administrative position as the President of an Institution of Higher Education, making a significant contribution to the involvement of underrepresented minorities in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). I have experience teaching grades 1, 2, 3, and 5 in both public and private education settings. My performance reviews were satisfactory. As a new teacher these positions were temporary and I was also completing graduate coursework so I have had the rare opportunity to teach in a variety of settings while being able to adapt to change. I have experience teaching in Title III schools, Public Schools, and Private Schools. I have 3 years of experience working at a university in the President’s office as an administrative assistant I was then promoted to the Center for Academic Success which is a role outlined to accommodate new college students getting acclimated to the higher education learning environment and briefly as a scholarship coordinator helping students find scholarships to help pay for their education. I left this role because I wanted to return back to the classroom as well as finish my graduate school efforts.

I earned a College Preparatory Diploma from Andrews Academy in 2004. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Oakwood University in 2008. I earned a Master’s Degree in Instructional Leadership from Alabama A&M University in 2013. I earned an Educational Specialist Degree from Alabama A&M University in 2017. I am certified.  I have an Educational Administrative License from the State of Alabama (which I am currently working on renewing), Professional Level 6 Educator Certificate from the State of Georgia (valid and current), and a Professional Level 6 Educator Certificate from the State of Tennessee (valid and current).

Following my admission into my doctoral program I was employed at the local school district so I also have administrative experience as I was employed as a Reading Interventionist instructing grades K-5 on reading foundational skills. I took a break from teaching to pursue my doctorate in Instructional Leadership.  I successfully completed 21 credit hours toward a doctoral degree at Samford University resulting in a GPA of 3.85 which is reflected on my transcript. While my initial career goal was to obtain a position as an elementary school principal, the participation in my program increased my appetite for further knowledge in the fields of leadership and policy. To date, I have completed 80+ hours of professional development in order to keep my educational expertise current. I recently completed the Public Leadership Credential offered through Harvard Kennedy, Online Certification Program for Promethean 9 Educational Technology Training Modules, Bright from The Start Georgia 10 Hour Early Learning Training Program, and the Auburn University Technology Integration Course. Consulting experiences include a community meeting with Gwinnett County Public schools to review instructional materials for the new school year.

My experiences that relate to school improvement include assisting my school, Union Chapel Christian Academy, with the appropriate use of Star Math and Reading testing. I developed a table formatted to track students’ progress from Fall to Spring which also assisted parents in understanding the academic progress of their child. During testing, I collaborated with the teachers throughout the school to identify the students who were at risk and developed a tutoring/intervention program to help bring those students up to grade level.   While employed as an assistant in the President’s office at Oakwood University, I participated on budget committees, in disciplinary meetings, on financial planning boards, faculty development planning committees, arranged travel, maintained the quarterly President’s FYI newsletters, prepared power point presentations for the President, and completed a myriad of other tasks and responsibilities. When I assisted the President in developing the organization’s current strategic plan I was given the responsibility to gather and analyze data from the University’s constituents, to include students, parents, faculty, staff, and board of trustee members. This data helped to determine the future of the organization’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives.

While completing my experience in education it became clear that policy is the framework of all educational organizations, and increasing my understanding of leadership and policy will strengthen my pedagogy and provide me with the necessary tools to become a progressive educational leader in the 21st Century. My research area of interest involves determining the most effective strategies for increased recruitment, retention, graduation and gainful employment of women, individuals with disabilities, Native American Indians, Hispanics, African Americans, and other groups considered to be underrepresented minorities, into STEM fields. My future plans include teaching at a university for five to seven years, then pursuing a position as Vice President (VP) of Academic Affairs, VP of Development, Provost, and ultimately, President. One plan that I would ensure would be that the university has an effective outreach program to promote community awareness and visibility. I intend to impact the educational community K-18 by making a footprint in the educational society of the technology-driven world we live in today.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and speedy response,
